Are you considering taking Beginner Horseback Riding Lessons and want to know the basic differences between English & Western styles of riding? Then this article is for you. English & Western riding styles are more similar than people think they are. Both styles entail controlling a horse and require cooperation between horse & rider to accomplish tasks.
English riding started and developed in Europe. Europeans have always enjoyed equestrian pursuits, especially in the military. Most English riding disciplines can be tied to military training regimens. English style horses tend to be tall and run well. There are variations in English riding, but all feature a flat, lightweight saddle. English saddles are designed to maximize contact between horse & rider, and to allow the horse the freedom to move in the most optimal manner for a given task.

The Korean Jindo dog is a hunting breed that originated in Jindo Island in Korea. Although it is relatively unknown outside of Korea, it is highly celebrated and valued for its fierce loyalty and bravery. The Jindo is a medium sized dog, weighing between about 25 to 50 pounds. It is double-coated and looks like a spit-type dog. Two body styles, Gyupgae and Heutgae, exist. Gyupgae describes a shorter, compact, and more muscular body while Heutgae expresses a slender dog, with less depth of chest and a longer loin. Korean law only officially recognizes white and yellow Jindos as having correct coloration. However, the United Kennel Club recognizes five different coat colors of white, fawn, grey, black and tan, and brindle.

If you have decided that you want to put a feeder for the birds into your garden you may feel that you want something different than the standard types. Anyone can have a tube feeder or the more common platform bird feeders. Perhaps you are looking instead for a glass bird feeder. These are a more elegant, and often more expensive, type of feeder. Still, it may be your preference to have something a little different, a little more stylish that makes a statement instead of just a bird feeder sitting in your garden. They are also good to have because they tend to last longer than other feeders, are less likely to disintegrate with the elements and will not rot.

Spiders can make great pets! I wouldn’t suggest anyone with arachnophobia (fear of spiders) having one as a pet, but even beginner pet owners can take care of some types of spiders.
Tarantulas are the most common type of spider kept as a pet, and have become more and more popular as a pet in recent years. Although people tend to fear keeping a tarantula as a pet, it is often more harmful to the animal than to the pet owner. Tarantulas can die from a short fall if their abdomen ruptures, so great care must be taken when handling one.

The Importance of Protecting Your Horse from Parasites
Horses have worms. All of them do. The good news is they can be kept under control with proper management. Manure removal, practicing good sanitation measures, bot egg removal, and keeping to a regular deworming schedule are a must. Not doing so can take a staggering toll on a horse’s health, even death.

A Garden for your Pet Cat Cats enjoy roaming around in gardens, investigation and getting into mischief. Why not set aside a piece of garden to bring pleasure to your cat(s).
We have two house cats, a Ragdoll and a Persian Chinchilla, that love to go out and play in the sun. We set aside a part of the garden to the rear of the house which would be 3/4 lawn and the rest a planted raised bed.

When starting an aquarium the chances are you can be overwhelmed by the array of equipment needed to make it functional and safe for aquatic life to thrive. One such consideration is the type of fish tank that you need. First you have to consider the size and shape of the tank but one factor that is often overlooked is the material that will be used for the fish tank. The traditional material is glass. A new baby disrupts and turns life upside down for everyone in the household including the pets in the house. The unused , untidy storage rooms , or the office is scouted out to decide which room is going to be rearranged to make space for the new arrival. The hustle, and bustle begins early on in the pregnancy. The house gets purged. There are many adjustments to be made. How do you let the pet in on what’s going on? He’s watching you and maybe he already knows as he picks up one of his stuffed animals and begins to shake it vigorously until the stuffing comes out. He may be showing us just what he thinks of the news and the changes it has precipitated. With all that goes on even a well trained pet may react negatively to the change in attention and focus. Remember he was your “first baby” How will he greet the “new baby” in town? Get you vets advice for what you can do to get Fido ready for babies impending arrival. Positive reinforcements of training techniques should be used consistently before baby arrives. Not being allowed in rooms the pet has spent time in, new smells and most importantly new sounds are things to prepare the pet for. It has also been suggested that you bring an item belonging to the baby home and allow the pet to smell it. Limit the dog and or cat from the chosen baby room before the baby arrives to give them time to make the necessary adjustments in their environment. Set up routines such as the times you will walk your dog and when he eats etc. Plan areas for play away from the babies room. This is the time to try new training techniques to correct problem behavior, use words and sounds in your training that the dog responds to best.Give lots of praise. Be sure that at all times you are in control of your pet.

If you are concerned about what you’re feeding your dog since the recent pet food recalls, recipes for homemade treats are worth a closer look. Making your own treats is not much more expensive than buying them commercially. In fact, it may be cheaper.
Commercial treats contain small amounts of low quality meat and large amounts of filler. They are also full of artificial colors, flavors and preservatives. These scientifically engineered foods resemble nothing that dogs would eat in the wild. More and more people are taking the time to remove artificial foods from their diets - isn’t it time to do the same for your pet? Take the time to research some recipes and begin making your own chewing bones, cookies and other snacks. You might actually have fun doing it!

As the holidays approach, a level of apprehension continually grows in each person’s mind: ‘how can I not gain weight this holiday season?’ people ask. ‘How can I quickly lose weight after the holidays?’ is another question that health-conscientious people have asked themselves each year.
Weight gain is not only a problem for people during the holidays. Dogs get new bones or new tasty treats and biscuits. Sometimes, dogs are even allowed table scraps so they can be a part of the family festivities. Because it is most likely cold outside, there may be a warm fire in the fireplace, or maybe the family has decided to sit down and watch TV for the day, so the family pet joins in the relaxation and leisure of the holidays.
